I am sitting in the GSU (student union) waiting for the women's small group to show up for dinner. Next week is spring break and everyone is dealing with mid-terms this week, so the women are having dinner together for core instead of a bible study. I look forward to hanging out with them.
We had our spring retreat this last weekend. It was very good. We spent the weekend talking about the Holy Spirit and now we have a number of students seeking God for the power of his spirit and the gifts. I am excited to see what God does in their lives.
Gene and I are in need of the coming break this week. We are tired, but encouraged and hopeful. When the students get back we will be talking a lot about reaching the next generation of students next year in the fall. We have a group of leaders right now who could actually reach freshmen next fall. So we are doing an evangelism seminar on March 24th to give them the skills they need to share with their friends on campus. Then the staff will take them out sharing on campus as the weather gets better.
We have sensed your prayers for us. God has been very generous in his provision for us in the last couple of months. Our monthly pledges are growing, slowly, and we have received a number of special gifts that have helped us so much. We have also seen God working in the lives of our students because of your prayers. Thank you so much.
